Stuart Varney

Stuart Varney is a British-American broadcast journalist and conservative political commentator with a career spanning nearly five decades in cable news and financial reporting. A graduate of the London School of Economics, Varney began his broadcast journalism career as a business anchor for KEMO-TV in San Francisco. He was later recruited by Ted Turner to join CNN, becoming the first person to broadcast from CNN's studios in New York City at the network's launch. Varney played a key role in establishing CNN's business news team and hosted several financial programs, including "Your Money," "Business Day," and "Business Asia." His reporting and analysis of the stock market crash of 1987 contributed to CNN receiving a Peabody Award for excellence in journalism.

Varney left CNN to host CNBC's "Wall Street Journal Editorial Board with Stuart Varney" before joining the Fox News business team. He later became an anchor for Fox Business Network at its inception. Varney is the host of "Varney & Co.," a leading market program on television that features market coverage, current events, and interviews with Wall Street experts. As host, Varney provides analysis on business, finance, and economic news, examining major headlines and discussing the impact of market fluctuations and policy changes.

In addition to his primary program, Varney hosted "American Built" on FBN Prime, a series highlighting the engineering and innovation behind iconic American landmarks. He also hosts "My Take with Stuart Varney" on FOX Nation, where he explores key economic issues affecting the nation. Throughout his career, Varney has interviewed prominent figures in business, politics, sports, and entertainment, including former President Trump, former Labor Secretary Marty Walsh, former National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow, and United States Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

Varney co-moderated a Republican presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library alongside Fox's Dana Perino and Univision's Ilia Calderón. He has also contributed to Fox Business Network's Midterm Election panel with Maria Bartiromo, Charles Payne, and Larry Kudlow. With a career that spans the founding days of CNN to his role at Fox Business Network, Varney is recognized as a leading voice in American financial and political media.
