Stacey Harvey

Stacey Harvey is the CEO of ReGeneration Schools, a nonprofit network of K-8 public charter schools dedicated to preparing students for college and cultivating strong character. Under her leadership, ReGeneration’s Chicago campuses surged from the bottom 17% of Illinois schools to the top 39% statewide, with all three Chicago campuses ranking in the top ten among Illinois charter schools. Today, ReGeneration serves more than 2,000 students across nine campuses in Cincinnati and Chicago.

Before joining ReGeneration, Harvey was a principal at Uncommon Schools, where she founded Rochester Prep. That network, now comprising five schools, serves 1,600 students in upstate New York.

Prior to this, Harvey was the managing director for Victory Education Partners in Chicago, IL, and a principal with Uncommon Schools, where she opened two charter schools in Rochester, NY. Under Shell’s leadership, her founding cohort of students at Rochester Prep ranked sixth in the state of NY for English Language Arts in 2008.

Harvey (née Shells) is an alumna member of Teach for America, and her work in urban education has been featured in the books Teach Like a Champion, by Doug Lemov, and Leverage Leadership, by Paul Bambrick-Santoyo.

Harvey holds a B.A. from Hampton University, an M.A. in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University, and an M.A. in Administration from Pace University. An alumna of Teach For America, her work in urban education has been highlighted in Doug Lemov’s Teach Like a Champion and Paul Bambrick-Santoyo’s Driven by Data, Leverage Leadership, and Get Better Faster.
