Sonya Curry

Sonya Curry is an entrepreneur, educator, author, and speaker whose professional achievements span education, sports, and community advocacy. Curry excelled as a basketball and volleyball player in high school, winning state championships, and later played volleyball at Virginia Tech, where she earned all-conference honors in the Metro Conference as a junior. She holds a Bachelor of Science in family and child development from Virginia Tech and obtained Montessori education certification for infants, toddlers, and primary school, completing extensive training in Montessori administration and earning the North Carolina early childhood and administration credentials.

Curry’s commitment to education led her to found the Christian Montessori School of Lake Norman in Huntersville, North Carolina, a faith-based institution focused on holistic child development. She has also served as assistant athletic director for Charlotte Christian School’s women’s sports programs, supporting the growth of young athletes.
