Shanita Hubbard is a Professor of Sociology and the award-winning author of the critically acclaimed book "Ride-or-Die: A Feminist Manifesto for The Well-Being of Black Women." Hubbard received the Gold Nautilus Book Award for her esteemed work. Previous recipients of the Nautilus Book Award include Brene Brown, Deepak Chopra, and Amanda Gorman. In addition to critical acclaim, Hubbard's book received widespread recognition from celebrities like Gabrielle Union and Tamron Hall, both of whom wrote stellar blurbs for the book.
Hubbard is also a Soros Justice Fellow and a La Maison Baldwin Fellow — a residency awarded to Black authors "writing in the spirit of James Baldwin." Hubbard's bylines appear in Essence, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Elle, Pitchfork, and other prominent media outlets.
