Scott W. Tinker Biography
Dr. Scott W. Tinker is chief executive officer of Tinker Energy Associates. He collaborates with industry, government, academia, and nongovernmental organizations to address societal challenges in energy, the environment, and the economy.
Dr. Tinker sees four pillars of energy security--affordable, available, reliable, and sustainable—and he frames his engaging, entertaining and jargon-free talks accordingly. The pillars of energy security are influenced by the cost of the resource, price volatility, the cost of infrastructure, resource access, generation intermittency, air and atmospheric emissions, land footprint and water usage. And in the end, energy security drives the energy mix. That is why energy transitions encompass so much more than just “political will.”
Dr. Tinker serves as director emeritus of the Bureau of Economic Geology at the University of Texas at Austin.
