Sasha Merci

Sasha Merci is a second-generation Dominican American comedian, actress, and writer known for her work in stand-up comedy, film, television, and digital media. Merci began her career performing at open mics and stand-up shows before gaining recognition through comedy clips posted to her Instagram account. Her viral videos resonated with Dominican communities and contributed to her growing social media following.

Merci's on-screen credits include the feature film "De Lo Mio" on HBO and the web series "Group Therapy" for Complex. She co-hosted the comedy talk show "Like, Share, Dimelo" on FUSE, which explored topics such as pop culture, politics, dating, and Latinx identity. In the Lionsgate feature film "Righteous Thieves," directed by Anthony Nardolillo, Merci portrays Nadia, a Dominican woman involved in the recovery of stolen artwork from Nazis during World War II. Her additional film work includes "SHELTER," where she appears alongside Lisa Vidal and Cam Gigandet.

Merci is also active in live performance and community events. She co-founded Morir Soñando, a stand-up comedy showcase dedicated to Dominican comedians, and created El Teteo, a Dominican-themed event in Downtown Los Angeles that brings Caribbean culture to the West Coast. El Teteo has attracted large audiences, including members of the entertainment industry. Merci has also starred in LA Egotista, a play written by Erlina Ortiz that explores complex family relationships.

Merci has been recognized as one of Freeform TV's #YoungBlackAndFreeform recipients and has been featured in Refinery 29, Pop Sugar, and LA Times. She hosts the weekly podcast "3G's" from mitú Studios with comedians Erik Rivera and Jesus Sepulveda. Merci's social media presence has led to collaborations with brands such as Bumble, AT&T, Heineken, and Old Spice. Through her work, Merci highlights Dominican culture and Latinx representation in entertainment.
