Rowan Blanchard

Rowan Blanchard is an American actress whose career spans television, film, and literature. Blanchard began acting at age five and earned early recognition with a Young Artist Award nomination for her role as Rebecca Wilson in the action-adventure film "Spy Kids: All the Time in the World."

Blanchard gained widespread attention as Riley Matthews, the lead character in the Disney Channel series "Girl Meets World," a sequel to the 1990s series "Boy Meets World." The show ran for three seasons and earned her nominations at the Kids' Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and Young Artist Awards. She also starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Invisible Sister" and appeared in Ava DuVernay's feature film "A Wrinkle in Time."

Following "Girl Meets World," Blanchard expanded her résumé with roles in projects for a range of audiences. She played Jackie Geary on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs and joined the cast of the TNT/AMC science fiction thriller series Snowpiercer, portraying Alexandra Cavill alongside Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs. Blanchard also starred in the Hulu coming-of-age romantic comedy "Crush" and appeared on the Peacock series "Poker Face." She joined the series regular cast of Hulu's dystopian drama "The Testaments," the sequel to "The Handmaid's Tale," playing Shunammite, a teen from a prominent Gilead family.

Beyond acting, Blanchard is recognized for her advocacy on issues including feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, human rights, and gun violence. She has spoken at the UN Women and US National Committee's annual conference as part of the HeForShe campaign and was named one of Time Magazine's Most Influential Teens.
