
Ron Christie is a Republican political strategist and government relations expert whose career spans roles in Congress and the executive branch. Early in his career, Christie served as counsel to Senator George Allen of Virginia and as senior advisor to former House Budget Committee Chairman and future Ohio Governor John Kasich. He later joined the White House, serving as deputy assistant to Vice President Dick Cheney for domestic policy, advising on health care, budget, tax, and other policy areas. Christie also served as a special assistant to President George W. Bush.
During his White House tenure, Christie led an American delegation to an international conference on volunteerism and civic engagement in London, hosted by Prime Minister Tony Blair. Following the summit, he collaborated with Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown on initiatives to expand civic engagement in Great Britain. Christie is a Term and Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. After leaving the White House, he founded Christie Strategies LLC, a communications and issues management firm based in Washington, D.C. He continues to advise Republican members of the House of Representatives and the United States Senate on policy and political strategy.
Christie is the author of three books: "Black in the White House," "Acting White: The Curious History of a Racial Slur," and "Blackwards: How Black Leadership is Returning America to the Days of Separate But Equal." He is also a co-founder of No Labels, a movement focused on bipartisan problem-solving in American politics.
In academia, Christie serves as an adjunct professor at the McCourt Graduate School of Public Policy and the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He is also a lecturer at Cornell University, leading a seminar on private influence in public policy. Christie has held fellowships at the John F. Kennedy School of Government Institute of Politics at Harvard University, the University of Southern California Center for the Political Future, and the Miller Center at the University of Virginia. In media, Christie is a political analyst for BBC World in North America. BBC4 Radio debuted his documentary, "The Trumped Republicans," which examines the first two years of the Trump administration. Christie is also a contributing columnist for The Hill.
