Rodrigo Prudencio

Rodrigo Prudencio is the managing partner at Propeller, a venture capital firm focused on advancing ocean and climate innovation. With more than two decades of experience in climate-focused venture capital and public policy, Prudencio supports science-driven solutions to the climate crisis. At Propeller, he guides the fund’s strategy, oversees investments, and expands partnerships with ocean science institutions. He played a key role in helping the firm close its inaugural fund at $117 million and invest in startups addressing ocean carbon capture, sustainable fisheries, and marine technology.

Before joining Propeller, Prudencio co-founded and led Amazon’s $2 billion Climate Pledge Fund, where he managed more than 40 investments in sectors including transportation electrification, aviation, and energy storage. He also managed the Alexa Accelerator, supporting early-stage startups in voice and ambient computing technologies. Earlier in his career, Prudencio was a partner at Nth Power, a venture capital fund focused on energy technology, and founded Shuddle, a transportation network for children. His background includes senior roles in environmental policy, including serving as a senior aide to the U.S. Department of State and as a member of the U.S. delegation to the Kyoto Conference on Climate Change.

He is recognized for bridging technology, policy, and investment to advance climate action.
