Robin I. Linker

Robin I. Linker, CHCRA, CHCA, CHCAS, CPC-I, CPC, COC, CPC-P, MCS-P, CHC, is a leader in healthcare coding, auditing, education, and documentation. Linker serves as the executive director of operations for the Association of Health Care Auditors and Educators and as CEO of Robin Linker & Associates, a healthcare consulting firm based in Colorado. Robin Linker & Associates, Inc. is a healthcare consulting firm established in 1995, specializing in consulting and auditing services, as well as educational seminars and workshops that qualify for CME and CEU credits.

With more than 30 years in healthcare, Linker provides consulting, auditing, research, and education in practice management, compliance, and correct coding for a range of clients, from teaching institutions and large facilities to small group and single-physician practices. Linker is credentialed through AHIMA and AAPC in both physician and facility coding, dually certified in medical compliance, including through the Health Care Compliance Association, and is a licensed instructor for AAPC and AHCAE. Linker is also an author and trainer for the American Medical Association and is triple certified in professional (physician), surgical, and risk auditing.

Linker is a former member of the Provider Outreach and Education Advisory Group for TrailBlazers and CMS and a former director of education and technical development for the American Academy of Professional Coders. She has contributed to the technical and development process for national certification and specialty exams, developed and presented workshops for AAPC, and assisted in curriculum development and certification examination writing as part of the subject matter expert team for CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, and various specialty examinations and study guides. Linker also provides assistance to physicians, attorneys, and facilities with education, auditing, consulting, IRO services, and support with fraud and abuse cases.

As an author and curriculum developer, Linker has contributed to healthcare education through co-authoring and presenting the American Medical Association's ICD-10-CM Training Workshops and annual CPT Updates Workshops, co-authoring the college curriculum "Understanding Medical Coding: A Comprehensive Guide," and authoring the American Medical Association's "Coding with Modifiers." She also co-authored and taught the first ICD-10-CM training programs for AAPC and began teaching ICD-10-PCS for AHIMA. These publications serve as resources for coding professionals and students nationwide.

Linker is frequently invited to lecture and author publications and articles for organizations on documentation, coding compliance, and healthcare regulatory issues. She has presented at major industry events, including the CGS Administrators "CGS IMPACT Conference." Linker is known for making complex regulatory topics accessible and engaging for audiences ranging from solo practitioners to large academic medical centers.
