Robert Lawrence Friedman

Robert Lawrence Friedman, Ph.D., is a psychotherapist, corporate trainer, author, and professional speaker specializing in rhythm-based stress management. As the founder and president of Stress Solutions, Inc., Friedman has delivered stress management and rhythm-based wellness programs across the United States, Europe, and Asia. His work integrates clinical psychology with percussive arts, providing individuals and organizations with an evidence-based approach to well-being and workplace wellness.

Friedman is the author of "The Healing Power of the Drum — A Psychotherapist Explores the Healing Power of Rhythm" and "The Healing Power of the Drum – A Journey of Rhythm and Stories." These books explore the health benefits of hand drumming for diverse populations, including at-risk adolescents, employees experiencing workplace stress, Vietnam veterans, and individuals living with Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis. He also authored "How to Relax in 60 Seconds or Less." Friedman received the Hearst Scholar Award for his work in rhythm-based exercises and their impact on health and wellness.

Drawing on his background as a corporate trainer and professional drummer, Friedman has led interactive rhythm-based programs for large audiences and has been featured on Discovery Health Channel's "Class of '75," "The Today Show" (NBC), NY One News, Fox News, E Television, "The Alive and Wellness Show" (CNBC), as well as on Fuji and Sankei television networks in Japan. Friedman has been a Remo drumming artist, served as chairman of the Percussive Arts Society Drumming and Wellness Committee, is a member of the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild Advisory Board, and is active in the National Speakers Association. He also directed the Corporate Stress Management Training Program at Queens College, which offered a 72-hour certification program for those pursuing corporate stress management training.
