Renu S. Persaud

Dr. Renu S. Persaud is a Canadian social scientist, professor, and author known for her expertise in self-worth, well-being, and mental health. Persaud holds a PhD from the University of Toronto and serves as a faculty award-winning lecturing professor of Sociology at the University of Windsor in Canada. Her academic research has focused on the concept of self-worth, which she explored for both her MA and PhD at OISE. Persaud is actively involved in research and writing on sense of self, well-being, and the restoration of self-worth.

Persaud is the author of the book "The Mastery of You," which integrates scholarly research with personal narrative and poetry. The book examines psychological and social factors that influence self-betrayal and self-fulfillment. "The Mastery of You" has received a Reader's Favourite Silver Medal and nominations for the Governor General's Award and the RBC Taylor Prize.
