Ran Zheng

Ran Zheng is a biotechnology executive and the chief executive officer of Landmark Bio, a public benefit company focused on advancing the development and manufacturing of cell and gene therapies. With more than 25 years of experience in biotechnology operations across multiple regions, Zheng has contributed to the strategic direction and operational management of Landmark Bio, overseeing the construction and launch of its biomanufacturing facility in the Boston area. Zheng leads efforts to accelerate the translation of research into therapies, collaborating with academic, healthcare, and industry partners including Harvard, MIT, and several hospitals.

Prior to joining Landmark Bio, Zheng served as chief technical officer at Orchard Therapeutics, where she established the technical operations function and global manufacturing network, and oversaw the approval of Libmeldy, the first gene therapy for metachromatic leukodystrophy. Zheng previously held leadership roles at Amgen, where she expanded manufacturing capabilities for clinical and commercial supply, and at Genzyme (now Sanofi), where she contributed to process development and engineering. Zheng has expertise in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and experience navigating regulatory and operational challenges in the life sciences sector.

Zheng is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, such as the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference, where she addresses topics including patient access and cost reduction for advanced therapies. Her career includes building collaborative ecosystems that connect academia, industry, and healthcare, establishing her as a prominent voice in the advancement of next-generation medicines and biotechnology.
