Ramon Laguarta

Ramon Laguarta is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of PepsiCo, one of the world’s largest food and beverage companies. Laguarta joined PepsiCo in 1996 and became CEO in October 2018; he was appointed chairman in early 2019.

As CEO and chairman, Laguarta leads PepsiCo’s strategic transformation agenda, pep+ (PepsiCo Positive), which focuses on sustainable growth by integrating sustainability into business operations, transforming the company’s portfolio toward healthier, more positive choices, expanding internationally, and enhancing consumer engagement. He is known for driving portfolio transformation, operational excellence, and growth across global markets, while modernizing PepsiCo’s supply chain and digital capabilities.

Before becoming CEO, Laguarta served as president of PepsiCo, where he shaped corporate strategy and oversaw global operations, corporate strategy, public policy, government affairs and The PepsiCo Foundation. He also led the Europe and Sub‑Saharan Africa business and held a range of leadership positions across PepsiCo’s international markets.

Laguarta began his career at Chupa Chups S.A., a Spanish confectionery company, managing international growth across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the U.S.

Born in Barcelona, Spain, he holds an MBA from ESADE Business School and a master’s in international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He speaks multiple languages and also serves on the board of Visa Inc. and the Business Roundtable, and as Co‑Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Board of Stewards for the Food Systems Initiative.
