Rafiah Maxie-Cole

Rafiah Maxie-Cole is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 25 years of experience in psychotherapy. She employs a client-centered, goal-focused approach to mental health treatment. In addition to her private practice, Maxie-Cole is an advocate for suicide prevention and mental health awareness, particularly within underserved communities of color. Her professional credentials and background in clinical social work have established her as a credible voice in addressing mental health disparities affecting marginalized populations.

Maxie-Cole founded Soul Survivors of Chicago, a nonprofit organization dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness for youth of color, following a personal tragedy. The organization provides education and awareness about mental health, suicide prevention, and trauma prevention, addressing gaps in mental health resources for underserved communities. Through Soul Survivors of Chicago, Maxie-Cole applies her clinical expertise and personal experience to create support systems for individuals and families affected by suicide, loss, and trauma.
