Rachel Wilson

Rachel Wilson is a managing director at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and serves as head of cybersecurity for the division. In this role, Wilson is responsible for protecting the cybersecurity of Wealth Management systems and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of firm and client data. As chief data officer, she oversees the resilience of Wealth Management's critical infrastructure, continuity of core business processes, and supervises the client fraud risk program, which implements technical and business controls to help prevent unauthorized access to or misuse of client funds. Wilson defends the firm and its 7 million clients against cyber threats and hackers.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Wilson spent 15 years at the National Security Agency, where she advanced to the Senior Executive ranks. At the agency, she led counterterrorism operations, managed global efforts to detect and disrupt terrorist activity, and served as chief of operations in the United Kingdom, working with UK intelligence services to counter terrorist and cyber threats to the London Olympics. Wilson later led cyber exploitation operations as deputy and then chief of the Remote Operations Center within Tailored Access Operations, planning and executing thousands of cyber operations against foreign intelligence, military, and cyber targets.

At Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Wilson leverages her experience in cybersecurity, cyber risk management, and cyber defense to protect the firm and its clients. She advises leadership on cybersecurity issues, leads field and client education on cyber risk and mitigation, and drives innovation in cybersecurity and authentication technology. In addition to her corporate responsibilities, Wilson advises individuals, corporations, and institutions on cybersecurity best practices and strategies.

Wilson has been recognized by Morgan Stanley Wealth Management as part of the MAKERS Class, a program honoring women who serve as groundbreakers and advocates. She was also named one of the Top Women in WealthTech by ThinkAdvisor.
