Rachael Flatt Biography
Rachael Flatt is a former figure skater, representing the United States at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Born in Del Mar, California, she rose through the ranks of U.S. figure skating with her powerful jumps, consistency, and determination, becoming the 2008 World Junior Champion and later capturing the 2010 U.S. national title. In 2016, she was inducted into the Colorado Springs Sports Hall Of Fame.
After retiring from competition, Flatt shifted her focus to academics, attending Stanford University for her undergraduate studies before pursuing advanced work in clinical psychology. She went on to earn her doctorate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she specialized in eating disorders and mental health in athletes, drawing from her own experiences in the elite sports world. Today, Flatt has combined her background in athletics and psychology to contribute to research and advocacy aimed at supporting mental wellness, especially within high-performance environments.
