Peter Stephens

Peter Stephens is a Marine Corps veteran whose 22-year career provided extensive experience in leadership, resilience, and the challenges associated with military service. Recognized for performance as a Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, Stephens established a reputation as a dedicated Marine and a mentor to those under his supervision. He graduated at the top of his class in a course focused on leadership skills, public speaking, physical fitness, military studies, and teamwork, a distinction that informed his later work as a public speaker on issues affecting veterans and first responders.

After his military service, Stephens dedicated his efforts to advocacy and education on mental health, post-traumatic stress, and the culture of silence within uniformed professions. He has served as a keynote speaker for law enforcement seminars addressing post-traumatic stress, the stigma of seeking help, and strategies for supporting public safety personnel. His memoir, "Forward On: Warrior to Wanderer," reflects on his 22 years in the Marine Corps, nearly a decade working overseas, years of travel, and a solo 2,194-mile thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.
