Peter Rahal

Peter Rahal is an entrepreneur and food industry innovator best known as the co-founder of RXBAR and the founder and Chief Executive Officer of David, a nutrition-focused food company redefining high-protein, clean-label products.

Rahal graduated from The Ohio State University, where he earned a degree in economics. In 2013, he co-founded RXBAR with childhood friend Jared Smith, launching the business with a simple philosophy: create protein bars made from recognizable, whole-food ingredients and market them with complete transparency. The brand's minimalist packaging, which prominently listed its core ingredients, helped distinguish RXBAR in the rapidly growing health food market.

Under Rahal's leadership, RXBAR experienced extraordinary growth, expanding from a startup operating out of a small manufacturing facility into one of the fastest-growing nutrition bar brands in the United States. In 2017, Kellanova (then the Kellogg Company) acquired RXBAR for approximately $600 million, marking one of the most successful exits in the better-for-you food sector.

Following the acquisition, Rahal turned his attention to the next generation of functional nutrition products. In 2024, he launched David, a company focused on developing science-driven, high-protein foods designed to maximize nutrition while minimizing calories and unnecessary ingredients. The company's mission combines advances in food science with consumer demand for healthier, convenient products.
