Pete Holmes

Pete Holmes is a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, producer, and podcaster whose career spans television, film, publishing, and cartooning. Holmes began his comedy career in New York City, making club appearances and taking part in Comedy Central's "Premium Blend," as a regular panelist on VH1's "Best Week Ever," and on VH1's "All Access." His cartoons have appeared in The New Yorker, reflecting a creative range that extends beyond the stage. He was named on Variety's 10 Comics to Watch and was nominated for a Comedy Central Comedy Award for Best Club Comic, signaling his rise as one of comedy's distinctive voices.

Holmes launched his own late-night talk show, "The Pete Holmes Show," which ran on TBS for two seasons in the time slot after Conan. He also launched the long-form comedy podcast "You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes," which has featured guests such as Garry Shandling, Judd Apatow, Aziz Ansari, John Mulaney, Ben Schwartz, and Dana Carvey, with topics typically covering comedy, sexuality, and religion. Holmes created and starred in the semi-autobiographical scripted comedy series "Crashing," which aired on HBO for three seasons. Executive produced by Judd Apatow, Crashing follows a stand-up comic whose life is turned upside down, forcing him to re-evaluate his life and make a fresh start in the New York comedy scene. The series aired 24 episodes over three seasons and featured cameos from numerous comedians, including Hannibal Buress, Sarah Silverman, Dave Attell, Gilbert Gottfried, Bill Burr, John Mulaney, and Ray Romano. The show received critical acclaim for its authentic portrayal of the comedy scene, cementing Holmes as a creative force in television.

Over the course of his career, Holmes has released five comedy specials: "Impregnated with Wonder," "Nice Try, The Devil," "Faces and Sounds," "Dirty Clean," and "I Am Not For Everyone." "I Am Not For Everyone" was released on Netflix and features stories ranging from Holmes' religious upbringing to quips about his perspective as a first-time father. The special was produced by comedian Bill Burr. Holmes has also worked as a voice actor and starred in the CBS sitcom "How We Roll."
