Padma Lakshmi

Padma Lakshmi established a significant presence in the culinary world through her involvement in various television programs. She served as host and judge on Bravo's cooking competition "Top Chef" from 2006 to 2023, contributing to the show's success over its 20 seasons. Lakshmi also ventured into a documentary series with her creation, "Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi," which premiered on Hulu in 2020. This series, where she also acted as host and executive producer, went on to receive the Gotham Award for Breakthrough Series and Critic's Choice Awards for Best Culinary Show in 2021 and 2022. In 2026, she returned to television as the creator, host, and executive producer of CBS's new cooking competition show, "America's Culinary Cup."

Lakshmi's influence extends beyond the screen as a successful author and entrepreneur. She has penned five books, including two cookbooks, "Easy Exotic" and "Tangy, Tart, Hot & Sweet," and a memoir, "Love, Loss, and What We Ate," all of which appeared on The New York Times best-seller list. Her first cookbook won the Best First Book at the 1999 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. In addition, Lakshmi has launched a jewelry line sold at high-profile retailers like Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, as well as a home décor line at Bloomingdale’s.

In addition to her culinary success, Lakshmi has made significant contributions in the field of social advocacy. She co-founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America in 2009, and in 2019, was appointed a United Nations Development Programme Goodwill Ambassador. Her efforts in advocacy were recognized with the Advocate of the Year Award from the United Nations Correspondents Association in 2021. Furthermore, Lakshmi's influence was globally acknowledged when she was listed among Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world in 2023.
