Olugbenga Agboola

Olugbenga Agboola is the co-founder and CEO of Flutterwave, Africa’s leading payments technology company. A serial entrepreneur with two exits under his belt, Agboola has over 18 years of experience in building scalable financial technology solutions.

Prior to co-founding Flutterwave, Agboola contributed to the development of fintech solutions at several tech companies and financial institutions such as PayPal, Standard Bank, among others. His earlier fintech venture, which focused on alternative payment methods, was acquired by a major Nigerian bank.

A software engineer with a master's degree in information technology security and behavioral engineering and an MBA, Agboola is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of the Columbia Business School, the Executive Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management, and the Wharton School of Management and the University of Westminster.

In 2020, he was honored as Young Business Leader of the Year by African Leadership Magazine. His accomplishments in leadership and innovation have also earned him a spot on Fortune’s prestigious 40 Under 40 list and TIME’s 2021 Next 100 list. In April 2022, he was recognized as Tech Investor of the Year at the Business Insider Africa Awards.

In October 2022, Agboola was awarded Nigeria's National Honour Medal of the Officer of the Order of Niger by President Muhammadu Buhari in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of technology, innovations and economic development.
