Olivia Ward

Olivia Ward is an opera singer, wellness coach, and motivational speaker best known as the winner of Season 11 of the reality competition series "The Biggest Loser." Her journey on the show, which she undertook alongside her sister Hannah Curlee, brought national attention to her perseverance, family values, and commitment to long-term health.

Originally from the South but later based in New York City, Ward trained as an opera singer and pursued a career in classical music. Despite her vocal talent, she often found that her weight limited the roles she was offered onstage, frequently being cast as comic characters rather than leading parts. At the same time, she faced personal health challenges, including a diagnosis of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder that can be associated with weight gain and fertility difficulties. Doctors warned that her weight could affect her chances of starting a family—news that deeply affected Ward, who has long described family as central to her life.

Determined to reclaim her health, Ward and Curlee applied as a sister team for Season 11 of “The Biggest Loser.” The pair quickly became fan favorites for their humor, resilience, and strong bond. They ultimately made history on the show as the first sisters to both reach the live finale together. When the season concluded in May 2011, Ward was crowned the winner after losing an extraordinary amount of weight and transforming both her physical health and public profile.

Following her victory, Ward turned her experience into a platform for helping others pursue sustainable lifestyle change. She has worked as a coach and program creator with Weight Watchers (now WW), where she shares practical strategies for healthy living and emotional balance. Ward has also spoken publicly about body image, fertility struggles, and long-term wellness, encouraging others to approach health with compassion and persistence. After losing the weight, she was able to get pregnant. She and her husband have two sons.

In addition, she hosts the podcast “Counterbalance,” where she explores topics related to health, mindset, and personal growth. Through her coaching, media work, and public speaking, Ward continues to inspire people to build healthier relationships with their bodies and their lives.
