Nichol King

Affectionately known as Harlem’s Banker, Nichol King has created an impact seen and experienced throughout the United States. Her mission is to improve the financial lives of humanity as a whole, including that of small businesses everywhere, especially in the heartbeat of the United States, her beloved Harlem.

King is a dynamic leader known for her agility, vision, and fearlessness in the banking industry. Currently, she serves as the Executive Director of Community and Business Development at JPMorgan Chase, where she leads the firm’s financial health strategy throughout the Northeast. Her pioneering work has been instrumental in creating 150 Community Manager roles nationwide and driving the bank to open community-centered branches as part of their community-banking model. King is widely respected as a trailblazer and thought leader in the banking industry.

Her journey at JPMorgan Chase began in 2008 at the firm’s flagship 125th Street Harlem location. She has held various roles including Licensed Personal Banker, Branch Manager, and Business Relationship Manager. In these positions, she served in unexpected yet critically essential ways, earning significant recognition. By 2019, she became the first-ever Vice President and Community Manager by piloting a new community-banking model at the iconic location where she started her career. Her work has been crucial in helping community members and their businesses increase their bankability, improve their economic mobility, and enhance their rate of scale. Congressional Representative Charles Rangel declared January 15th as “Nichol King Day” starting in 2016.

When King isn’t operating as Executive Director of Community and Business Development, she’s regularly contributing to or hosting financial health conversations for events such as The Women In The Black Conference, Economic Development Day for Harlem Week, and Women Trailblazing in Business. She is also an advisory board member for the New York Urban League’s small business solutions center and the West Harlem Innovation Network.
