Neil Everett

Neil Everett is an Emmy Award-winning sportscaster and one of the most recognizable personalities in the history of ESPN’s "SportsCenter." Over a 23-year career with ESPN, Everett became a familiar face to millions of sports fans, bringing his distinctive humor, warmth and conversational style to some of the network’s most prominent broadcasts.

He joined ESPN in 2000 as an anchor for ESPNEWS and "SportsCenter," following 15 years in television broadcasting in Honolulu, where he worked for several local affiliates, most recently serving as sports director and weekday anchor at KGMB-TV. Before entering television, he was an assistant athletic director and sports information director at Hawaii Pacific University and served as communications director for the Jeep Aloha and Jeep Oahu bowls.

In 2009, Everett moved to ESPN’s Los Angeles production facility and became the co-anchor of the network’s late-night "SportsCenter" alongside Stan Verrett. The duo quickly became one of the program’s most enduring and entertaining anchor teams, developing an authentic on-air chemistry that ESPN executives described as impossible to manufacture.

For more than a decade, Everett anchored "SportsCenter," covering the biggest stories and events across the world of sports while becoming particularly known for his quick wit, improvisational style and memorable on-air personality. He signed off from ESPN in June 2023 after 23 years with the network.

A native of Spokane, Washington, Everett is a graduate of the University of Oregon, where he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism. He was inducted into the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication's Hall of Achievement in 2020.

Following his ESPN career, Everett continued his work in sports broadcasting, including serving as a television studio host for the Portland Trail Blazers. He remains a sought-after sports personality, host and speaker, bringing decades of national television experience, storytelling expertise and a uniquely entertaining perspective to live events, corporate audiences and sports-related programs.
