Nanci Appleman-Vassil

Nanci Appleman-Vassil is a Certified Speaking Professional and business professional with more than 25 years of experience in training, organization development, and corporate consulting, with a focus on coaching managers and building high-performing teams. She is the founder and CEO of APLS Group, a leadership, talent development, coaching, and consulting organization.

Over the course of her career, Appleman-Vassil has established herself as a leader in organizational development, contributing to the creation of high-performance cultures across various industries. Before launching APLS Group, she served as a corporate training manager for R.H. Donnelley, where she provided training and organization development services, including coaching and developing managers to build a high-performance culture. As the director of programs for NTL Institute for the Applied Behavior Sciences, she designed a team-based infrastructure to better serve clients globally and managed five profit and loss centers, implementing tracking systems to control costs and increase profitability.

Appleman-Vassil holds an MA in counseling from the University of Colorado and a BA in psychology and education from the University of Denver. She is also a National Certified Counselor. Her work focuses on team building, leadership development, and communication strategies to foster cultural transformation within organizations. As an Everything DiSC Authorized Partner, Appleman-Vassil provides solutions that enhance workplace communication. APLS Group offers customizable training programs, including "Mastering the Art of Difficult Conversations" and "Leadership Essentials," designed to empower teams and drive performance.

She supports individuals in expanding their self-awareness and ability to self-manage within organizational systems, with a particular focus on leadership development for high-potential leaders, new managers, and experienced managers. Appleman-Vassil authored the book "18 Common Mistakes Small Business Owners Make," and has contributed chapters to "Public Speaking Secrets" and "GPS for Success."

Her professional involvement includes serving as a board member at NSA Carolinas, focusing on speaker development and marketing, and membership in the National Speakers Association and the Association for Talent Development. She is a past president of the RTP chapter of the Association for Training and Development and served as its Southeast Area Coach.
