Mohammad Anwar

Mohammad Anwar is the president and CEO of Softway and Culture+, a Wall Street Journal bestselling author and entrepreneur recognized for his approach to workplace culture and human-centered leadership. Anwar founded Softway as a technology services company with his family while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in computer science and a minor in mathematics at the University of Houston. The company evolved from a small web development shop into a global consulting firm specializing in workplace culture, digital transformation, communication, and artificial intelligence integration.

Anwar's leadership philosophy was shaped during a period of organizational crisis, when a toxic workplace culture threatened Softway's survival. Taking responsibility for the company's challenges, Anwar led a transformation focused on people and six key behaviors: inclusion, empathy, vulnerability, trust, empowerment, and forgiveness. This shift became the foundation for the company's renewed direction and growth.

Anwar co-authored the book "Love as a Business Strategy," which documents this journey and advocates for a more human approach to leadership. He later established Culture+ as a standalone organization dedicated to transforming workplace behaviors and fostering high-performing teams. Culture+ operates with over 200 employees in Houston and Bengaluru. Anwar also co-hosts the "Love as a Business Strategy" podcast, where he discusses leadership, organizational culture, and business innovation.

Following the success of his first book, Anwar and his co-authors published "Love as a Change Strategy: Innovation, Growth, and Transformation." The book combines memoir, practical guidance, and leadership insights, emphasizing the impact of leading organizational change with empathy and humanity.

Anwar is a keynote speaker and industry expert on topics including business leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, diversity and inclusion, and strategic leadership. As a member of the Forbes Business Council, Anwar addresses audiences on the importance of people-first leadership in the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and organizational change.
