Mikaela Shiffrin

Mikaela Shiffrin, a world-renowned alpine skier, made her mark in the sports world at a young age, winning her first World Cup race at just 17. Her speed and agility in the slopes earned her the title of the youngest slalom gold medalist in Olympic history at 18 years and 345 days. A five-time Overall World Cup champion, Shiffrin has an impressive track record, with eight World Cup discipline titles in slalom and 15 medals from 18 career world championship races. Her achievements have not gone unnoticed, as she was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2023 and won the best Athlete Award at the EPSYS.

Shiffrin's consistent performance on the slopes has led to numerous ground-breaking achievements. She was the first to win three consecutive races in technical disciplines at Semmering, Austria in 2016, a feat last achieved in 1989. In 2018, she made her mark in downhill skiing with her first podium and victory at Lake Louise. By the end of 2018, Shiffrin had become the youngest skier to win 50 World Cup ski races at 23 years and nine months. Her ability to adapt and excel in different disciplines of the sport has set her apart, making her the only alpine skier to win all six currently contested alpine skiing disciplines. In 2025, she won her 100th World Cup race, making her the winningest Alpine skier for both men and women. That same year, she launched her podcast "What's the Point with Mikaela Shiffrin."

Apart from her accomplished career in alpine skiing, Shiffrin has made several appearances in media. She was interviewed by David Letterman on the Late Show in March 2013 and was later featured in NBC's one-hour special "How to Raise an Olympian". Shiffrin's life and career were also documented in Red Bull's "Peak Season: The Determination of Mikaela Shiffrin" in 2018. In addition to her media presence, Shiffrin has shown her commitment to philanthropy by working with organizations like Protect Our Winters and advocating for mental health. She is also a part-owner of Denver's National Women's Soccer League expansion team.
