Michael Fullan

Michael Fullan is a Canadian educational researcher, author, and consultant known for his work in educational reform and large-scale system change. Fullan served as dean of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, where he led significant organizational transformations, including the merger of two major schools of education. He earned a doctorate in sociology from the University of Toronto and has focused his career on advancing strategies for meaningful, lasting transformation in educational systems.

Fullan led the evaluation team for the National Literacy and Numeracy Strategy in England and served as special policy adviser in education to the Premier of Ontario, contributing to improvements in the province's public school system. His work in Ontario emphasized a balance of pressure and support to achieve measurable gains in student proficiency.
