Maury Povich

Maury Povich is a television personality and journalist best known as the longtime host of the daytime talk show "Maury." Born in Washington, D.C., he grew up in a media-oriented family—his father, Shirley Povich, was a prominent sports columnist for The Washington Post. Povich attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a degree in television journalism before beginning his career in local news.

Povich spent the early part of his career working as a reporter and anchor at stations across the country, including in Washington, D.C., and Chicago. He gained national attention as the host of the tabloid news magazine show "A Current Affair" in the late 1980s.
