Mat Best is a former U.S. Army Ranger who completed five combat tours in the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

He is the author of the memoir "Thank You for My Service," a national bestseller that explores his experiences and perspectives as a veteran. In his op-ed for RECOIL, "Grass is Greener Veterans, Regret Veterans & Depressed Veterans – What is PTSD?," Best discusses the importance of personal responsibility and contributing to society.
