Mark Kanegis

Mark Kanegis is a photographer and entrepreneur whose work has appeared across print, digital, and broadcast media, including CNN, FOX, NBC, and ABC. Kanegis has built a multifaceted career focused on capturing the natural beauty and character of New England. He began his photography career in his native Cape Ann, an area known for its seaside villages on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Whether photographing in challenging conditions such as intense heat, freezing sea-smoke, or on mountain cliffs, Kanegis consistently seeks to capture bold images.

Kanegis is the author of the best-selling book "New England Views: Coastal Massachusetts," published by Globe Pequot Press. The book features imagery that highlights the region’s seascapes, landscapes, lighthouses, waterfalls, beaches, and harbors, blending people, places, and seasons to showcase the unique tapestry of New England. His work has been featured on ABC-Boston's Chronicle and in Yankee Magazine, and his photography is included in collections worldwide. In addition to his photography, Kanegis is an entrepreneur and business leader. He co-founded The Film Detective, a company specializing in streaming classic-film distribution, which originated in Rockport, Massachusetts, and was later acquired by Cinedigm. Kanegis previously served as global partner relations manager at Genuity, an Internet infrastructure and e-business service provider. Through his photography business, he has also supported The Jimmy Fund during the annual Jimmy Fund Telethon at Fenway Park.
