
Marc Effron is a recognized authority in human resources and talent management, serving as the founder and president of the Talent Strategy Group. He leads the firm's global consulting, education, executive search, and publishing businesses, working with a diverse range of clients. Effron manages HR projects internationally across industries such as pharmaceuticals, consumer products, and technology. His clients have included American Express, Advanced Micro Devices, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Fidelity Investments, and MasterCard.
Effron is known as the co-author of "One Page Talent Management," published by Harvard Business Press. The book has been adopted by companies worldwide for its focus on science-based simplicity, accountability, and transparency in talent management. Co-authored with Miriam Ort, it became a bestselling HR book on Amazon. His subsequent work, "8 Steps to High Performance" from Harvard Business Review Press, provides guidance on elevating individual and organizational performance. Effron also co-authored "Leading the Way," co-edited "Human Resources in the 21st Century," and contributed chapters to several management and leadership books.
Before founding the Talent Strategy Group, Effron held executive HR roles at Bank of America and Avon Products. He also started and led the Global Leadership Consulting practice at Aon/Hewitt. Earlier in his career, Effron served as a political consultant and as a staff assistant to a United States Congressman. This experience across government, corporate leadership, and global consulting informs his perspective on organizational performance.
Effron has contributed to the HR community through education and publishing. He co-founded the Talent Management Institute, an executive education program with more than 7,000 graduates. He also founded and leads the New Talent Management Network, a nonprofit HR networking and research organization with more than 3,000 members. Effron publishes Talent Quarterly magazine, which provides executives with insights on talent management.
