
Maneet Chauhan is an Indian-American chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and television personality known for her fusion of traditional Indian flavors with global culinary techniques. Chauhan began her culinary career in India, graduating from the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration. She gained experience interning at hotels including Taj Group, Oberoi Hotels, and Le Meridien before moving to the United States to attend The Culinary Institute of America, where she graduated with honors.
Chauhan served as executive chef at Vermilion in Chicago and New York City, where she blended Indian and Latin American cuisines. Under her leadership, Vermilion received recognition from Chicago Magazine, Esquire, and Wine Enthusiast.
Chauhan is widely recognized as a judge on the Food Network program "Chopped." She has appeared in more than 150 episodes and multiple spin-offs, including "Chopped Sweets," "Chopped After Hours," and "Chopped Junior." She also competed on "Iron Chef America" and participated in "Chopped Castaways." Chauhan has competed in Guy Fieri's "Tournament of Champions," earning the championship title twice.
Her accolades include the James Beard Foundation Broadcast Media Award for her work on "Chopped" and an Augie Award from The Culinary Institute of America. She has been named to Nation's Restaurant News Power List and is the founding partner and president of Morph Hospitality Group in Nashville, Tennessee, which operates Chauhan Ale & Masala House and The Mockingbird in Nashville, as well as eet by Maneet Chauhan in Disney Springs near Orlando, Florida.
Chauhan is the author of "Flavors of My World" and "Chaat: The Best Recipes from the Kitchens, Markets, and Railways of India." "Chaat" received the IACP Cookbook Award and both books have been featured in publications such as the New York Times and Food & Wine. Chauhan founded Hospitality Strong, a nonprofit supporting hospitality workers, and serves on the advisory board for Nashville's COVID-19 Response Fund. She has been recognized by Nashville Business Journal's "40 under 40" and Nashville Lifestyles' Women in Business. Chauhan was also selected as the chef for the first Indiaspora Inaugural Ball honoring the re-election of President Barack Obama. Chauhan continues to contribute to American culinary culture through her work in restaurants, television, and community initiatives.
