Luke Russert

Luke Russert is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and New York Times bestselling author whose career spans broadcast news, long-form writing, and global exploration. Russert double-majored in communications and history at Boston College and, while still a student, worked for ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption." He also co-hosted "60/20 Sports" with political commentator James Carville on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. After two years of national radio experience, Russert joined NBC News as a correspondent covering youth issues during the presidential election cycle.

Russert's election day report, which examined the impact of Barack Obama's win on young voters, contributed to NBC's News & Documentary Emmy Award for its Election Night coverage. As a Congressional correspondent for NBC News, he covered the House of Representatives and appeared as a guest host on MSNBC programs such as "The Daily Rundown with Chuck Todd," "Way Too Early with Willie Geist," "Andrea Mitchell Reports," and "NOW with Alex Wagner." He was also a panelist on NBC's "Meet the Press." Russert made his primetime debut on NBC's "Dateline" with "Conviction," an investigative report into the murder conviction of Jon-Adrian Velazquez.

In addition to political reporting, Russert covered major national events, including natural disasters, the Boston Marathon bombings, the Navy Yard mass shooting, and the Baltimore riots. After nearly a decade at NBC, Russert left the network to focus on travel and writing, embarking on a multi-year journey across six continents.

Russert's travel memoir, "Look for Me There," chronicles his journey through more than 60 countries and addresses themes of grief, identity, and personal growth. The book became a New York Times bestseller. Russert also contributed a new introduction to Tim Russert's book Big Russ and Me and received the Marlin Fitzwater Award for Leadership in Public Communication from Franklin Pierce University. He returned to national television as a co-host of MS NOW's daily show, "The Weeknight." Russert's work continues to influence political journalism, broadcast news, and travel writing.
