Lisa Toni Burke

Lisa Burke gained a double first in Natural Sciences at Cambridge University and then spent a decade working at Sky News.

During this decade of live TV, Burke also produced and presented documentaries for the BBC, Channel 4, RTE (Ireland) and RTL (Luxembourg).

In Luxembourg, Burke co-created media company RTL Today from scratch, which has become the biggest English news platform in the country. You can find her weekly long-form conversation chat-show on RTL Play, Today Radio and podcasts (Apple and Spotify).

Burke is also a classically trained soprano: Licentiate from Trinity Guildhall London, Premier Prix and Supérieur exams at Conservatoire du Nord, Luxembourg. She sang with the BBC Symphony Chorus for 15 years and the Cambridge University Musical Society. She is now branching out with more solo work.

Burke is in high demand as a speaker and moderator across Europe, covering space, tech, science, finance, law, health, entrepreneurship, European Institution events music, art and much more.

While living in Abu Dhabi for two years, Burke wrote for The National newspaper, while her daughters were small… she knows how to re-start your life from scratch in a totally new environment as she’s done it a few times!

Burke has been writing children’s science books since 2005, mostly with Dorling Kindersley.

Her specialism in Cambridge University was chemistry, but she also studied maths, physics and geology.

Burke serves on the board for Raregivers, a Californian-based foundation supporting the care-givers of children with rare disease and has also served on the Cambridge University Communications Working Group.

She launched the first Presenting & Debating Society at the University of Luxembourg and is a sought-after voice-over artist.
