Lindsay Bryan-Podvin

Lindsay Bryan-Podvin is a licensed social worker, certified financial therapist, author, speaker, and founder of Mind Money Balance, a practice focused on supporting individuals in developing a healthier, shame-free relationship with money. Bryan-Podvin became Michigan's first financial therapist, establishing a niche at the intersection of mental health and personal finance. She holds a master's degree in social work from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Michigan State University. She is a certified practitioner in the Trauma of Money Method, a Certified Financial Therapist through the Financial Therapy Association, and holds a Financial Social Work certificate.

With a background in clinical social work, Bryan-Podvin identified a gap in addressing financial stressors within mental health care and developed approaches to help people examine the connection between emotional wellness and money. Her work integrates mental health, social justice, and financial wellness, providing support for individuals, workplaces, and brands. She created the Mind Money Balance Method, a therapy-informed approach to financial well-being that combines emotional insight with practical financial strategies. Bryan-Podvin also facilitates the Financial Empowerment Initiative, a five-part workshop series on financial wellness at the Center for the Education of Women+ at the University of Michigan.

Bryan-Podvin is the author of "The Financial Anxiety Solution," an interactive workbook designed to help individuals reduce money stress through emotional insight and behavior change. She also offers consulting services to private practice therapists, focusing on money mindset, sustainable pricing, and authentic marketing to incorporate financial self-care into their practices. As a speaker, Bryan-Podvin has presented at institutions such as Princeton, Yelp, Michigan State University, The Financial Diet, FinCon, University of Michigan, and Simple Practice.

Bryan-Podvin has made over 120 podcast appearances and has been featured by major media outlets including CNN, Vox, NPR, and CNBC.
