LeSean McCoy

LeSean McCoy is a former professional running back in the National Football League (NFL), with a career marked by numerous accolades and records. McCoy was named to the Freshman All-American team by Rivals.com and the All-Big East selection by the same organization. After declaring himself eligible for the NFL draft, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round in 2009. He swiftly made his mark, breaking the Eagles' all-time rookie rushing record with 606 yards. In 2011, McCoy set the Eagles' single-season touchdown and rushing touchdown records with 17 rushing and 20 total touchdowns, earning him the NFL rushing touchdowns leader title for the same year.

McCoy has been recognized for his performances, which include leading the NFL in rushing yards in 2013 and being named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. His career with the Eagles culminated in him becoming the all-time leading rusher with 6,792 yards, surpassing previous record holders in fewer seasons. McCoy also played significant roles in key games, including playoff appearances and high-profile regular-season games. His performances were consistently highlighted in Monday Night Football and other nationally televised games. In 2019, he signed a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, reuniting him with his former coach, Andy Reid, and helping the team win Super Bowl LIV.

McCoy retired from professional football on October 1, 2021, after signing a ceremonial contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Shades of Greatness aims to improve youth and familial outcomes related to educational, financial, and health literacy in underserved communities.
