Laz Alonso

Recognized by Variety as one of its “Top Ten Actors to Watch,” Laz Alonso has established himself as one of Hollywood’s most versatile and compelling leading men. He currently stars as Mother’s Milk in Amazon Prime’s Emmy-nominated and top-rated series, "The Boys." Most recently, he headlined the action-adventure film "Fountain of Youth," directed by BAFTA Award-winning filmmaker "Guy Ritchie." In 2021, he appeared alongside Jason Statham in Ritchie’s "Wrath of Man," and co-starred in the critically acclaimed film "Detroit," directed by Academy Award winner Kathryn Bigelow.

Alonso’s dynamic range spans action, drama, and romantic comedy. He earned an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for his performance in "Jumping the Broom" (Columbia Pictures), opposite Paula Patton. He later reunited with her in the Lionsgate thriller "Traffik," directed by Deon Taylor. A BET Awards Best Actor nominee, Alonso has collaborated with some of the most visionary directors in the industry. He portrayed the heroic Na’vi warrior “Tsu’Tey” in James Cameron’s record-breaking blockbuster "Avatar," and captivated audiences as the villainous “Fenix” opposite Vin Diesel in Universal’s "Fast & Furious," a pivotal installment that helped reinvigorate the global franchise.

His filmography includes leading roles in cult favorites such as "Stomp the Yard" and "This Christmas" (Sony Screen Gems). He also appeared in "Jarhead," the Iraq War drama by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes, alongside Jamie Foxx and Jake Gyllenhaal. Other notable roles include "Straw Dogs," directed by Oscar nominee Rod Lurie, and "Miracle at St. Anna," a World War II epic helmed by Academy Award winner Spike Lee.

On television, Alonso has starred in several prime-time series, including NBC’s Deception and The Mysteries of Laura, as well as the A&E cult hit Breakout Kings.

In addition to his work in front of the camera, Alonso is an accomplished Executive Producer. He co-produced and starred opposite Danny Glover in "Down for Life," which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival to critical acclaim. More recently, Alonso executive produced the independent thriller "Detained," opposite Abbie Cornish. He is also the founder and CEO of Abundancia Pictures, a production company dedicated to creating film and television content that both entertains and inspires.

Born and raised in Washington, D.C., to a family of Afro-Cuban exiles, Laz Alonso holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Marketing from Howard University’s prestigious School of Business. He continues to refine his craft through film and TV production studies at UCLA. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
