Laurie Mintz

Dr. Laurie Mintz is an American psychologist, certified sex therapist, and professor emerita in the Department of Psychology at the University of Florida. Mintz has spent more than three decades bridging academic research in psychology and sex therapy with accessible public education. She has also worked in private practice for over 30 years, providing therapy to individuals and couples for both general mental health and sexual concerns. Her practice is grounded in a sex-positive, feminist framework that has resonated with audiences and clients internationally.

Mintz is the author of two books focused on women's sexual health and empowerment. Her first trade title, "A Tired Woman's Guide to Passionate Sex," explores psychological approaches to addressing low sexual desire among women. Her second book, "Becoming Cliterate," examines the cultural, psychological, and physiological factors influencing women's sexual pleasure. Both books are supported by published scientific studies demonstrating their effectiveness in increasing sexual desire, satisfaction, arousal, communication skills, body image, and a sense of entitlement to pleasure among women readers. "Becoming Cliterate" received the SASH Media Award from the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health and the Consumer Book Award from the Society for Sex Therapy and Research.
