Latto

Latto is an Atlanta-based rapper and singer recognized for her progression from teenage reality TV contestant to Grammy-nominated artist in the hip-hop industry. At age 10, Latto decided to pursue a career in rap and began writing her own songs. Before her television debut, she built a local following by performing at events and opening for other artists. At 16, she joined the cast of the Queen Latifah- and Jermaine Dupri-produced Lifetime reality TV show "The Rap Game." Latto won the competition but declined the offered recording contract, choosing instead to remain independent, a decision that would shape her approach to the music business.

After releasing several mixtapes and EPs that expanded her regional presence, Latto achieved national recognition with the single "Bitch from da Souf," which earned double platinum certification from the RIAA and marked her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Following her signing with RCA Records, the track was included as the lead single on her debut studio album "Queen of da Souf," which appeared on the Billboard 200 and featured the platinum-certified single "Muwop" with Gucci Mane. Latto later adopted her current stage name, reflecting a shift in her public image. She released "Big Energy," a track that became her signature anthem. Latto became the first female rapper to have a number-one record at Pop, Rhythm, and Urban Radio with the same single, and the first solo female rapper from Atlanta to receive both Gold and Platinum RIAA certifications. "Big Energy" reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified triple Platinum.

"Big Energy" served as the lead single from her second studio album, "777," which reached number 15 on the Billboard 200. To promote the album, Latto embarked on her first headlining tour, the 777 Tour, performing in major U.S. cities. She was recognized as Variety's Breakthrough Artist and won Song of the Year for "Big Energy" at the BET Hip Hop Awards, with "777" nominated for Album of the Year. Latto also received the BET Award for Best New Artist and Best Female Hip Hop Artist, and was honored with the Powerhouse Award at Billboard's Women in Music Awards.

Latto featured on Jung Kook's single "Seven," which topped both the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Global 200, and released "Put It on da Floor Again" with Cardi B, peaking at number 13 on the Hot 100. "Seven" remained number one on Billboard's Global chart for six consecutive weeks, and Latto won an MTV VMA for Song of the Summer for the collaboration. She was also included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for music. Her third studio album, "Sugar Honey Iced Tea," made history as she became the first solo female rapper from Atlanta to reach number one on Billboard's Top Rap Albums chart. In 2026, Latto announced that her album "Big Mama" would be her retirement album.

Latto returned to reality TV as a judge on Netflix's reboot of "Rhythm + Flow," joining Ludacris and DJ Khaled and providing insight from her experience as a former contestant. She has performed on major late-night television shows and award broadcasts, including the Billboard Music Awards, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and the BET Awards. Beyond her music career, Latto founded the Win Some Give Some Foundation to support at-risk young women. With multiple chart-topping singles, industry milestones, and community initiatives, Latto is a prominent figure in contemporary hip-hop and rap music.
