Kristina Kloberdanz

Kristina Kloberdanz is a leader in sustainability and corporate responsibility, serving as chief sustainability officer for Macquarie Asset Management. In this role, Kloberdanz oversees the firm’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments, including managing its global portfolio in line with net zero emissions goals. Her responsibilities span all asset classes, with an emphasis on integrating sustainability into investment and asset management processes and addressing environmental and social issues such as green energy transition, biodiversity, and community impact.

Prior to joining Macquarie Asset Management, Kloberdanz was chief sustainability officer at Mastercard, where she developed and implemented the company’s sustainability strategy. Her work included leading Mastercard’s net zero commitment, launching the company’s first sustainability bond, and advancing financial inclusion initiatives to bring one billion people into the financial mainstream. Kloberdanz also chaired the World Economic Forum Trillion Trees US Stakeholder Council, mobilizing the private sector to support nature-based solutions. Earlier in her career, she spent two decades at IBM, leading global corporate responsibility strategy and integration.

Kloberdanz serves on the GRESB Foundation Board and participates in several global initiatives, including the Global Investors for Sustainable Development Strategy Group and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures. She is a frequent speaker at major conferences, such as the Milken Institute Global Conference, where she shares insights on sustainable investment and responsible business practices. Kloberdanz’s work continues to influence the field of sustainable finance and ESG strategy.
