Kris Bowers

Kris Bowers is a composer, pianist, and filmmaker whose work bridges music and film. A Juilliard-trained musician, Bowers is recognized among a new generation of genre-defying composers for blending classical, jazz, and contemporary influences. His scores include films such as "Green Book," "King Richard," "The Color Purple," and "The Wild Robot," as well as television series including "Bridgerton," "When They See Us," and "Dear White People." Bowers has received recognition including an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film for "The Last Repair Shop," multiple Emmy and Grammy nominations, and honors from the Critics' Choice Awards and BAFTA.

In addition to his scoring career, Bowers is a filmmaker and advocate for music education.
