Kory Puderbaugh

Kory Puderbaugh is a two-time Paralympic silver medalist recognized for his achievements in adaptive sports and wheelchair rugby. Born in Poland with congenital limb differences affecting all four limbs, Puderbaugh moved from an orphanage to the U.S. Paralympic stage. Diagnosed with congenital limb deficiency at birth, he was born without both legs below the knee, his lower left arm, and most of his right arm. Puderbaugh is also a qualified aircraft pilot and a former state chess champion.

Puderbaugh was introduced to wheelchair rugby by a friend, which became a pivotal point in his athletic career. After competing as a high school wrestler in Eagle, Idaho, he transitioned to wheelchair rugby, earning a silver medal with Team USA at the Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games. He later secured another silver medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games in the Team Mixed event. Puderbaugh and Team USA faced Australia in a double-overtime final at the Rio Games. He has been recognized for his contributions to Paralympic sports, including an invitation to the White House for a celebration of U.S. Paralympians.

Known by the nickname Spiggy, Puderbaugh is a prominent figure in the wheelchair rugby community. His career highlights the competitive nature of Paralympic athletics and the importance of adaptive sports in promoting inclusion and diversity.

Outside of sports, Puderbaugh is a keynote speaker who addresses topics such as health and wellness, disability advocacy, diversity and inclusion, sports motivation, personal growth, social activism, and philanthropy. He shares his experiences to inspire others, particularly individuals with physical disabilities, emphasizing resilience, teamwork, and personal development. Puderbaugh’s journey from orphanage to the Paralympic podium positions him as a leading voice in the adaptive sports and disability advocacy communities.
