Kimberly Douglas

Kimberly Douglas is a recognized expert in facilitation, strategic planning, team effectiveness, and innovation, and is the founder and CEO of FireFly Facilitation Inc. Douglas holds the Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential, is a Certified Professional Facilitator - Master (CPF|Master), and has a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology. She has attained IAF Master Certification, the highest level of facilitation certification, and is also a Certified Virtual Facilitator (CVF).

Before founding FireFly Facilitation Inc., Douglas served as an organization effectiveness leader for Coca-Cola and as director of consulting for Hay Group. She has held HR leadership roles in the hospitality, telecommunications, and healthcare industries. Drawing on her corporate experience and expertise in organizational psychology, Douglas works with leaders to foster innovation and improve team performance. She has more than 25 years of experience designing and facilitating meetings and events focused on strategic planning, team effectiveness, innovation, and large-scale conferences.

Douglas has collaborated with leaders at organizations including Coca-Cola, Home Depot, CDC, McKesson, AT&T, and the U.S. Marine Corps to improve business performance. Her work spans Fortune 10 and Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and universities, helping organizations clarify direction, enhance collaboration, and engage teams in organizational change. Douglas is also a certified facilitator of the ExperienceInnovation business simulation, developed by ExperiencePoint in collaboration with IDEO.

In her book, "The Firefly Effect," published by Wiley, Douglas provides tools and techniques for leaders to build creative and collaborative teams that drive business results. "The Firefly Effect" offers practical methods and processes for understanding and improving team dynamics, making it a resource for both seasoned and emerging leaders. Douglas is a keynote speaker and contributor to management and leadership publications, with expertise in team-based innovation.

Douglas received the Lifetime Achievement Award from SHRM-Atlanta and served as chair of the board for the chapter. She has been recognized for her contributions to the field of facilitation through innovative practices and industry involvement. FireFly Facilitation Inc. is certified as a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) and a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE).
