Kimber Cross Biography
Kimber Cross is an outdoor adventurer, climber, and National Board-Certified educator. Cross was the first disabled climber to use a prosthetic ice tool on the Kautz Route of Mount Rainier/Tahoma and has summited Rainier six times, with additional ascents of Eldorado Peak, Mount Olympus, The Tooth, and Glacier Peak. She serves as a climb leader for The Mountaineers, instructing and leading field trips and private climbs on glaciers, rock, and ice throughout the year.
Cross has been featured in articles by Patagonia, Gripped, Paradox Sports, The Mountaineer, and Danner for her efforts to increase visibility of limb differences within the outdoor adventure and adaptive sports communities. In addition to her climbing and advocacy work, Cross teaches kindergarten in the Franklin Pierce School District in Tacoma and shares her experiences of resilience and inclusion with students and the broader community.
