Kevin Stark

Kevin Stark is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL, high-performance coach, and keynote speaker whose 22 years of military service have shaped his approach to leadership development. Stark’s expertise is grounded in 25 years of leadership experience across the public and private sectors, including roles as a U.S. Navy SEAL, chief executive officer at a renewable energy company, and managing director at an investment firm.

During his military career, Stark served as an operator, master trainer, and mentor. He led BUD/S 1st Phase SEAL training as the senior instructor, guiding thousands of SEAL trainees through high-risk training, including more than 30 Hell Weeks. Stark managed the U.S. Naval Academy’s SEAL candidate selection process, where the candidates he trained achieved a success rate exceeding 90 percent in a pipeline that averages 34 percent. He also advanced leadership development through experiential learning, leading Naval Academy students on expeditions such as summiting Mount Kilimanjaro and trekking in Patagonia. In his final military assignment, Stark led a Naval Special Warfare Unit’s rapid innovation group, overseeing a multidisciplinary team in the experimentation and acquisition of advanced technology.

After retiring from the military, Stark transitioned to the civilian sector as a coach and speaker. As director of coaching for Arena Labs, he applied high-performance frameworks to support nurses, doctors, and administrators in healthcare, developing coaching programs to help clinicians thrive under pressure. Stark later founded The Arete Path, a high-performance coaching platform focused on leadership development, personal growth, and organizational performance. The Arete Leadership Cohort, a 12-week coaching program, integrates ancient wisdom, modern performance science, and practical leadership tools to support founders, executives, and mission-driven professionals.

As a speaker and performance coach, Stark works with senior executives, professional athletes, and first responders, emphasizing leadership development at individual, team, and organizational levels. His keynote presentations address organizational resilience, the warrior mindset, and health and human performance, drawing on experiences from the Navy SEALs, healthcare, and business. Stark’s presentations help audiences shift from endurance to performance mindsets, set values-based standards, communicate with clarity, align teams with purpose, and transform challenges into opportunities. Over his career, Stark has trained, coached, or mentored nearly 10,000 professionals in pursuit of excellence.
