Kenny Xu

Kenny Xu is a journalist, author, and conservative commentator whose work focuses on education policy, identity politics, and the defense of meritocracy in American society. Xu graduated magna cum laude from Davidson College with a major in mathematics and a minor in philosophy. During his time at Davidson, he co-founded the Young Americans for Freedom chapter, aiming to provide a conservative perspective within the college's predominantly liberal environment. Under his leadership, the chapter hosted speakers including Bay Buchanan, Christina Hoff Sommers, and Andy Puzder. Following graduation, Xu founded Color Us United, a nonprofit organization advocating for a race-blind, merit-based culture in the United States.

Xu is the author of two books: "An Inconvenient Minority" and "School of Woke." "An Inconvenient Minority: The Attack on Asian American Excellence and the Fight for Meritocracy" explores how Ivy League universities, including Harvard, have faced lawsuits alleging discrimination against qualified Asian American applicants in admissions processes. The book examines the broader implications of these practices for Asian Americans and the concept of racial victimhood, and it brought significant attention to the SFFA v. Harvard case.

"School of Woke: How Critical Race Theory Infiltrated American Schools and Why We Must Reclaim Them" combines reportage, historical analysis, and cultural commentary to examine the influence of critical race theory in public education. Xu received the Novak Journalism Fellowship and the Government Accountability Institute Fellowship, which supported research for this book. He also serves as a board member of Students For Fair Admissions and has spoken publicly about the organization's Supreme Court victory related to affirmative action.

Xu's writing has appeared in publications including Wall Street Journal, City Journal, National Review, Newsweek, New York Post, New York Daily News, The Federalist, The Daily Signal, Quillette, and Washington Examiner.
