Kenneth Imo

Kenneth Imo is a diversity, equity, and inclusion executive who serves as the global head of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Adobe, a leading software company. In this role, Imo oversees the strategy and execution of diversity talent acquisition and DEI programming on a global scale. He brings nearly two decades of experience leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across international law firms and financial services institutions.

Imo began his legal career as a captain in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps, where he served as a criminal prosecutor and represented the Air Force in labor and employment matters. During his service, Imo developed leadership and followership skills and learned the importance of using evidence, facts, and data as a trial lawyer—skills he applies in his DEI work. He also played college football for Southern Methodist University, an experience that shaped his understanding of teamwork and inclusion.

Following his military service, Imo built a career at the intersection of law and diversity, equity, and inclusion. He served as director of diversity and career development attorney at WilmerHale and later as director of diversity and inclusion at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. At both firms, Imo worked with senior leaders to ensure that diversity and inclusion were central to client and community engagement, as well as the recruitment, career development, retention, and advancement of lawyers at all levels. He held senior positions at Capital One, including senior director of talent, leadership and DEI for international, small business and Walmart, as well as senior director of diversity and inclusion, before serving as vice president of diversity and inclusion at Fannie Mae.

Imo has authored several publications, including a book for the American Bar Association titled "Fix It: How History, Sports, and Education Can Inform Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Today." The book addresses the legal profession's challenges in achieving a more diverse bar, examining issues of unfairness, tradition, and bias while suggesting improvements for lawyers, the bar, and future attorneys. It places diversity in the context of leaders such as Harriet Tubman and Branch Rickey, illustrating how inclusion benefits both individuals and organizations.

Imo is a public speaker whose expertise spans business leadership, data, law, military service, and storytelling. He has spoken at forums such as the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York City, sharing his data-driven, evidence-based approach to building equitable organizations. At Adobe, Imo leads efforts to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace, guiding the company in ensuring equity in talent identification, development, and advancement.
