Kary Bheemaiah

Kary Bheemaiah is vice president and chief technology and innovation officer at Capgemini Invent, where he operates at the intersection of emerging technology and business strategy. In this role, Bheemaiah defines the business and sector implications of emerging technologies that are strategically important to Capgemini's clients, informs go-to-market implementation plans, supports the creation of new client-specific solutions and services, and connects the world of emerging technology to all Capgemini Invent practices, clients, and sectors. He is also a core team member of Capgemini Group's CTIO Council, which sets the agenda for the group's technology and innovation strategy.

Bheemaiah's career path includes a degree in marine engineering, followed by work as a third engineer at Teekay Shipping. He later joined the French Foreign Legion, serving five years in a combat regiment with multiple interventions in Africa and Afghanistan as a sniper and combat team lead. He was awarded the Cross of Valor for his operations in Afghanistan by the Department of Defense. After leaving the military, Bheemaiah earned a master's in international business at Grenoble Ecole de Management, then worked at Michelin as a data and financial analyst and as an economic researcher for an EU Horizon 2020 project. He subsequently became director of research at a Paris-based technology startup, before joining Fahrenheit 212 as an engagement manager and later being appointed CTIO for Capgemini Invent.

Bheemaiah is recognized for his expertise in technology, economics, and innovation. His book, "The Blockchain Alternative: Rethinking Macroeconomic Policy and Economic Theory," was published by Springer-Apress. His articles and opinions on technology and economic policy have appeared in WIRED, Harvard Business Review, World Economic Forum, Les Echos, The Conversation, and Huffington Post, with some work translated into Japanese. He has delivered two TEDx talks on currency evolution and the future of capitalism, and his perspectives have been featured at two TheNextWeb events.

Bheemaiah holds academic and advisory roles as an associate research scientist with Cambridge, senior fellow at Ecole des Ponts, and visiting lecturer at EDHEC, ESCP, ESSEC, GEM, and Moody's. He serves as a member of the Global Future Council on Autonomous Systems at the World Economic Forum and as an executive fellow at the World Economic Forum's Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where he leads work on the Technology Impact Initiative, focusing on emerging technology initiatives.
